The Journey

When catching up over coffee recently, a friend asked me what the most important thing that I had learned on my journey had been. I struggle answering questions with words like “biggest”, “most”, or “best” because I believe each key I have learned along the way has been the best for that particular moment.

I answered her with the thought that has been swimming around my mind recently, PERSPECTIVE. I need to constantly remind myself of where I have come from, how far God has miraculously brought me in my life’s journey, and then keep my dreams for the future alive. It is far too easy to get caught up in the moment, with all its problems and concerns, and forget that if God is great enough to bring me through the challenges I once faced, I can trust that God will bring me through this too. And far too often am I caught wondering how everything will work out, wishing I could control the outcome more, rather than trusting that the future will work itself out.

What have you learned on your journey?
